This Standard establishes the requirements for the types，thicknesses. and finish mf requtrements for theto be used for the fixtures and certain features of construction designed for residential use. Also given are definitions,inspection methods，and means foridentification of fixtures complying with this Standard.

Values are stated in U.s. Customary units and theInternational System of Units (SD). The U.s.Customaryunits shall be considered as the standard.

1.4 Appendix A

These tables,table illustrations,and figures are shown for convenience and for locatingtypical dimensions only. Unless specifically referencedin this Standard，the tables，table illustrations，andfigures shall not be used to indicate additional standardor required designs，and the Manufacturer’s rough-inspecifications shall take precedence.

1.6 Definitions
blemish:a dent，depression，or raised portion on thevisible stainless steel surface.
cabinet sink top:a sink unit,single or double compart-ment，with single or double drainboard (or countertop)welded to form an integral seamless countertop unit(see Tables A11，A12,and A13).
die mark: a visible scoring of the metal.
flange: the flat area on the front and sides of a sinkcompartment，and also on the back of flat-rim sinks,or around the entire circumference on round and ovalsink bowls and lavatories (see Fig. 1).
flat-rim sink (rim-back sink):a sink unit，single ordouble compartment,with flange on all sides andwithout back ledge (ledge-back) (see Tables A1 and A2).integral rim:a mounting rim,integrally formed as apart of the sink flange，with clamp-down devices forattaching sink to countertop.
2 REQUIREMENTS2.1 Material
The fixtures shall be made of stainless steel sheetconforming to one or more of the commercial stainlesssteel types given in Table 1.
2.1.1 Thickness of Sheet Metal. Except wherenoted,the stainless steel sheet shall conform to thethicknesses given in Table 2.The allowable thicknessof sheet metal for the entire unit,before drawing, shallbe in accordance with the size of the fixture as deter-mined by the dimensions of the compartment. If thereare two compartments welded together，each compart-ment shall be measured before drawing.
