Afterstripping the copper wire shall not be nicked, cut, bent,or mushoomed.Upon completion of the test, there shalibe no evidence of nickingchipping, or dulling of theblade; loosening of handles; failure of rollers to rotate freely; scoring or loosenirng of pins and rivets; or arypermanent deforuration resultirig from test.
)Type 1 pliers shall be tested by stripping appro-priate wire accarding to blade size,as specified in Tablei or Table 2.This stripping test shall be conducted bystripping a minimun of o.75 in. of insulation from threeends of wines for each size groove within the capacityof the stripper being tested. if a short stop lath is sup-plied, this test shalil be conducted with the short stopiatch disengaged and then repeated with the short stoplatch engaged.
b)Type u pliers shall be tested by stripping wirespecified in Table 3. This stripping test shail be con-ducted by stripping a minimutn of o.75 in. of insulationfrom three ends of wires for each size groave within thecapacity of the stripper being tested. The insulation shallbe renoved with a maxinum pull-off force of 20 lb whuilethe handles are clamped, without rotarey mation of thetool or wire.
6. Hardness Test
Hardness shall be tested in accordance with ASMEB107.25, para. 5.3.
6.3 Handle Load Test
Pliers shall be tested, using Table 4, in accordiancewith ASME B107.25, para.5.1.lf the permanent setexceeds the anount specifed, the pliers shall be consid-ered to have failed the test.
